1976: New Cuban Constitution Voids All Previous Treaties

In February 1976 Cuba issues their fifth constitution since independence from Spain. Article 11, Section C of the 1976 constitution states: “The Republic of Cuba repudiates and considers as null and illegal those treaties, pacts or concessions signed under conditions of inequality or which disregard or diminish her sovereignty and territorial integrity.”

The U.S. has no response.
